Star of the Day Event Productions presents Man of La Mancha. Based on The Adventures of Don Quixote, by Miguel the Cervantes y Saavedra, Man of La Mancha is a comic tragedy of mankind's struggle to better both himself and the world in which he lives. When Cervantes started writing he intended a satirical burlesque of the then fashionable novels of chivalry; gradually the author's sympathies changed, and the novel developed into a deeper, broader and more compassionate account of the adventures of Show More...and eccentric idealist in a hostile, greedy and cynical world, which leads the reader to the conclusion that if Don Quixote is a fool it is because the world does not live up to his ideals. This feeling is perfectly reflected in this beautiful musical version of the story. As with all the best allegorical tales, the oppressive mood of the fight against eternal evil is heightened by the sometimes comic, sometimes dramatic attempts of the hero to right all the wrongs of the world, and although his efforts at times seem puny and pathetic, the audience is left in no doubt as to the purity of intent that he instils into his self-imposed crusade. At times both inspiring and thought provoking, the story is both very entertaining and very moving, and will warm the heart of everyone whose spirits were ever raised by the prospect of a victory by the underdog against all the odds. The score is a musical delight and contains one of the most moving moments in musical theatre as Don Quixote relates his personal credo in The Impossible Dream. THE CAST Cervantes/Alonso Quijana/Don Quixote: Daniel Petrovich Sancho Panza: Alexis Leon Governor: Jonathan Kerbein Duke/Dr. Sanson Carrasco/King of the Mirrors: Benjamin Ruth Aldonza: Marcie Albertson Innkeeper: Missy Fuentes Maria: Cindy Ernst Fermina: Emma Fliszar Barber: Daniel Moyer Housekeeper: Christine Ebert Padre: Jay Fuentes Anselmo: Mikayla Fuentes Captain of the Inquisition: Mickey Brown Muleteers: Mickey Brown, Daniel Moyer Director: Chris Egging Asst Directors: Vince Rostkowski Vocal Director: Mel Nichols Stage Manager: Aine Shay ...Show Less

This is the reunion of Punky Meadows and Frank DiMino of the classic 1970s rock band Angel performing all the Angel hits together for the first time in 35 years! One of the most striking hard rock bands of the 1970s was undoubtedly Angel, who sported costumes and a highly theatrical stage show rivaled only by KISS. Despite Angel splitting in 1981, the group's popularity and influence remain high, resulting in the return last year of their famed guitarist, Punky Meadows, with his first ever solo Show More...release. With renewed passion for recording music, 'Fallen Angel' was crafted and charted on Billboard Heatseekers chart at #6. During the 1980s Frank became an in demand session singer and he received a platinum album for his vocal contribution on the Flash Dance soundtrack. He later recorded with Loudness, King Kobra, Sparks, Paul Raymond (UFO), performed on several tribute albums and more. Don't miss this rare show!. ...Show Less

Nora Jane Struthers has written "some of the most quietly powerful narratives within the new wave of Americana artists" - NPR Music. The songs that weave Show More...themselves into the fabric of listeners' lives are usually the ones in which an artist lays her soul bare for the world to hear. Struthers' current release Champion, is built on these kinds of songs. The 13-song collection written with her band the Party Line, is the follow-up to 2015's Wake, which earned Struthers acclaim from major outlets like NPR Music, Rolling Stone Country, and "Fresh Air" and their Live show is full to the brim with stellar musicianship, unexpected arrangements that blur the lines between folk, roots, and rock, and an audible sense that everyone in the room is having a damn good time. The National return to the Mann this summer on September 27 in support of their critically acclaimed new album Sleep Well Beast with special guests Cat Show More...Power and Phoebe Bridgers.

There are songs on Sleep Well Beast that are instantly recognizable as the National, but others are much harder to classify. The lyrics are about "trying to come clean about the things you'd rather not," says Matt. "Some of it's about marriage, some of it's about my relationship with Aaron and the band, some of it's about train tracks and dancing." Guitar solos appear like never before, yet on some songs, guitars account for only a tiny fraction of the music. "It was important that we genuinely explore new territory and risk falling on our faces, or not make a record at all," explains Aaron. "This album feels complete to me.". ...Show Less
